Product Description
- 3M Hookit Disc is easy to change and reuse, maximizing utility for the life of the disc
- Aluminum oxide abrasive offers a fast cut and long life, and performs well on many surfaces
- Durable film backing is tear-resistant and provides a close-tolerance, consistent finish
- Open coat construction helps reduce loading and provides a more aggressive cut
- Suitable for sanding and finishing on composites, gel coats, fiberglass, and other solid surface materials
The film backing gives you a close-tolerance, consistent finish, making it a good choice for applications such as spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects, or sanding automotive primer.
To help reduce loading on the disc, we designed an open coat construction without a load-resistant stearate coating. Our convenient 3M Hookit hook-and-loop attachment on the backing enables easy re-use so the disc can be used again and again for the life of the product, and attaches to our low-profile 3M Hookit Disc Pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander. Our Film Disc 360L comes in a range of grades for various applications from fine sanding to finishing.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
At 3M we offer a complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M Hookit discs for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris. They are often used in applications where a 3M Stikit disc may be too aggressive, as Hookit discs tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive backed discs. Hookit sanding discs conveniently and firmly attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander, can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life
3M Hookit Disc Model
The 3M Hookit Film Disc 360L is designed for easy changing and reusing, maximizing the disc's life. This model features the trusted 3M brand known for quality abrasives.
Its hook-and-loop attachment system allows quick swaps on compatible pads, making it ideal for high-production environments. The model 360L ensures consistent performance throughout its use.
Grade P600 Abrasive Quality
This disc uses a P600 grade aluminum oxide abrasive, which offers a fast cut and long life. The abrasive is suitable for fine sanding and finishing tasks on various surfaces.
Aluminum oxide is popular for its durability and ability to self-fracture, exposing fresh cutting edges. This makes the P600 grade perfect for detailed work like paint feathering and spot repairs.
Durable Film Backing Features
The disc's backing is a durable film that resists tearing and provides a close-tolerance, consistent finish. This film backing outperforms standard paper backings in toughness and longevity.
Its tear-resistant nature supports sanding on composites, gel coats, fiberglass, and solid surface materials. The film backing also helps maintain a smooth finish during automotive primer sanding.
Disc Size And Format
The disc measures 3 inches in diameter and features the NH die 300V format. This size fits well on random orbital sanders equipped with 3M Hookit Disc Pads.
The 3-inch size and die format make it versatile for detailed sanding tasks, especially on plastics and polyurethane solid surfaces. Its open coat construction reduces loading for a more aggressive cut.
Pack Count And Convenience
This product comes in a pack of 50 discs per carton and 200 discs per case, making it suitable for both small shops and larger operations. The pack size ensures you have enough discs for extended projects.
The hook-and-loop system allows discs to be reused multiple times, adding value to the pack count. This convenience helps reduce downtime and keeps work moving efficiently.
