  • Product Description
    • 3M Hookit Disc is easy to change and reuse, maximizing utility for the life of the disc
    • Aluminum oxide abrasive offers a fast cut and long life, and performs well on many surfaces
    • Durable film backing is tear-resistant and provides a close-tolerance, consistent finish
    • Open coat construction helps reduce loading and provides a more aggressive cut
    • Suitable for sanding and finishing on composites, gel coats, fiberglass, and other solid surface materials
The 3M Hookit Film Disc 360L features an aluminum oxide abrasive grain on a film backing for effective fine sanding on plastics, gel coats and polyurethane solid surface substrates. The sturdy film backing gives the durability needed for a high-production environment, and its excellent resistance to edge tearing provides longer life over discs with standard A-weight paper backings.

The film backing gives you a close-tolerance, consistent finish, making it a good choice for applications such as spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects, or sanding automotive primer.

To help reduce loading on the disc, we designed an open coat construction without a load-resistant stearate coating. Our convenient 3M Hookit hook-and-loop attachment on the backing enables easy re-use so the disc can be used again and again for the life of the product, and attaches to our low-profile 3M Hookit Disc Pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander. Our Film Disc 360L comes in a range of grades for various applications from fine sanding to finishing.

Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.

At 3M we offer a complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M Hookit discs for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris. They are often used in applications where a 3M Stikit disc may be too aggressive, as Hookit discs tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive backed discs. Hookit sanding discs conveniently and firmly attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander, can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life

    3M Hookit Disc Model

The 3M Hookit Film Disc 360L is designed for easy changing and reuse, maximizing the utility of each disc. This model features a hook-and-loop attachment system, making it simple to attach and remove from compatible pads.

Its design suits high-production environments where durability and convenience are key. The disc's hook-and-loop system works with the 3M Hookit Disc Pad, sold separately, ensuring a secure fit during sanding tasks.

    Grade P400 Abrasive Quality

This disc comes with a P400 grade aluminum oxide abrasive, known for its fast cutting ability and long life. The abrasive grain self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, maintaining performance over time.

Such a grade is ideal for fine sanding and finishing, providing a consistent finish on various surfaces. It performs well on plastics, gel coats, and polyurethane solid surfaces, making it versatile for many applications.

    Dimensions Six Inch Size

The disc measures 6 inches in diameter, a common size that fits many random orbital sanders. This size offers a good balance between coverage area and control during sanding operations.

Its 6-inch dimension makes it suitable for spot repairs, paint feathering, and sanding automotive primer. The size allows for precise work on composites and fiberglass surfaces.

    Film Backing Durable Format

The disc uses a durable film backing that is tear-resistant and provides a close-tolerance, consistent finish. This backing outperforms standard paper backings by resisting edge tearing and extending disc life.

Open coat construction on the film backing reduces loading and helps maintain an aggressive cut. This format is especially useful when working on composites, gel coats, and other solid surface materials.

    Pack Count Bulk Packaging

This product is packaged as 100 discs per carton and 500 discs per case, making it suitable for industrial or high-volume users. Bulk packaging ensures you have plenty of discs on hand for ongoing projects.

Having 500 discs per case supports continuous work without frequent reordering. This pack size is ideal for workshops and professionals who require consistent supply and value.
