Product Description
- 3M Hookit Disc is easy to change and reuse, maximizing utility for the life of the disc
- Aluminum oxide abrasive offers a fast cut and long life, and performs well on many surfaces
- Durable film backing is tear-resistant and provides a close-tolerance, consistent finish
- Open coat construction helps reduce loading and provides a more aggressive cut
- Suitable for sanding and finishing on composites, gel coats, fiberglass, and other solid surface materials
The film backing gives you a close-tolerance, consistent finish, making it a good choice for applications such as spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects, or sanding automotive primer.
To help reduce loading on the disc, we designed an open coat construction without a load-resistant stearate coating. Our convenient 3M Hookit hook-and-loop attachment on the backing enables easy re-use so the disc can be used again and again for the life of the product, and attaches to our low-profile 3M Hookit Disc Pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander. Our Film Disc 360L comes in a range of grades for various applications from fine sanding to finishing.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
At 3M we offer a complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M Hookit discs for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris. They are often used in applications where a 3M Stikit disc may be too aggressive, as Hookit discs tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive backed discs. Hookit sanding discs conveniently and firmly attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander, can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life
Trusted 3M Hookit Model
The 3M Hookit Film Disc 360L is designed for easy changing and reusing, maximizing the disc’s utility throughout its life. This model features the 3M Hookit hook-and-loop attachment system, ensuring quick and secure mounting on compatible pads.
Its hook-and-loop system works perfectly with the 3M Hookit Disc Pad (sold separately), making it ideal for random orbital sanders. This setup supports repeated use without adhesive residue, keeping your workspace clean and efficient.
Precise 5 Inch Size
The disc measures 5 inches in diameter, providing a balanced size for detailed sanding and finishing tasks. This dimension fits standard 5 in x NH backing pads, offering compatibility with many sanding tools.
Its 5-inch size is perfect for spot repairs, paint feathering, and sanding plastic parts, allowing for controlled and consistent results on various surfaces. The size supports both broad and fine sanding applications.
Durable P240 Grade Abrasive
Featuring a P240 grade aluminum oxide abrasive, this disc delivers a fast cut and long life. The P240 grit is well-suited for fine sanding and finishing, providing a smooth surface on composites and solid materials.
This grade excels on gel coats, fiberglass, and polyurethane substrates, making it a versatile choice for automotive and industrial use. The abrasive’s strength ensures consistent performance over time.
Reliable Film Backing Format
The disc uses a durable film backing that resists tearing and maintains close-tolerance finishes. This film backing outperforms standard paper backings by offering better edge durability and consistent sanding results.
Its open coat construction reduces loading, allowing for a more aggressive cut without clogging. This backing format supports high-production environments where reliability and finish quality matter.
Convenient 500 Pack Carton
Each carton contains 100 packs, with 5 discs per pack, totaling 500 discs per case. This large pack size is ideal for professional settings requiring frequent disc changes and bulk supply.
Having 500 discs on hand ensures you won’t run out during critical projects, supporting continuous workflow. The packaging also helps keep discs organized and protected until use.
