  • Product Description
    • 3M Hookit Disc is easy to change and reuse, maximizing utility for the life of the disc
    • Aluminum oxide abrasive offers a fast cut and long life, and performs well on many surfaces
    • Durable film backing is tear-resistant and provides a close-tolerance, consistent finish
    • Open coat construction helps reduce loading and provides a more aggressive cut
    • Suitable for sanding and finishing on composites, gel coats, fiberglass, and other solid surface materials
The 3M Hookit Film Disc 360L features an aluminum oxide abrasive grain on a film backing for effective fine sanding on plastics, gel coats and polyurethane solid surface substrates. The sturdy film backing gives the durability needed for a high-production environment, and its excellent resistance to edge tearing provides longer life over discs with standard A-weight paper backings.

The film backing gives you a close-tolerance, consistent finish, making it a good choice for applications such as spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects, or sanding automotive primer.

To help reduce loading on the disc, we designed an open coat construction without a load-resistant stearate coating. Our convenient 3M Hookit hook-and-loop attachment on the backing enables easy re-use so the disc can be used again and again for the life of the product, and attaches to our low-profile 3M Hookit Disc Pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander. Our Film Disc 360L comes in a range of grades for various applications from fine sanding to finishing.

Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.

At 3M we offer a complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M Hookit discs for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris. They are often used in applications where a 3M Stikit disc may be too aggressive, as Hookit discs tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive backed discs. Hookit sanding discs conveniently and firmly attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander, can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life

    Reliable 3M Hookit Disc

The 3M Hookit Film Disc 360L offers dependable performance with its easy-to-change hook-and-loop system. This model ensures quick attachment and removal, making it a practical choice for repeated use throughout the disc's life.

Designed for use with the 3M Hookit Disc Pad, this disc supports efficient sanding on a random orbital sander. Its hook-and-loop format helps maintain productivity in demanding work environments.

    Precise 5 Inch Size

Measuring 5 inches in diameter, this disc fits standard sanding tools perfectly. The size allows for effective coverage and control during sanding tasks, enhancing user comfort and accuracy.

Its 5 in x NH dimension ensures compatibility with various sanding pads, making it versatile for different projects. This size is ideal for spot repairs and finishing work on plastics and solid surfaces.

    Durable P220 Grade Abrasive

Featuring a P220 grade, the disc provides a fine sanding finish suitable for delicate surfaces. This grade balances cutting speed and smoothness, helping achieve consistent results on gel coats and composites.

The aluminum oxide abrasive grain delivers a fast cut and long life, making it effective on many materials. This grade is especially useful for automotive primer sanding and paint feathering tasks.

    Strong Film Backing Format

The disc uses a durable film backing that resists tearing and maintains close tolerances. This backing type supports a consistent finish and withstands the rigors of high-production sanding environments.

Its film backing also reduces loading and helps provide an aggressive cut with open coat construction. This makes it suitable for sanding fiberglass, gel coats, and other solid surface materials.

    Convenient 500 Pack Carton

Supplied in a carton of 100 discs and a case of 500, this pack size supports large-scale projects and frequent use. The bulk packaging helps keep your workspace stocked and ready for continuous sanding jobs.

This pack count is ideal for industrial or professional settings where consistent supply and quick disc replacement are essential. It ensures you have enough discs for extended work periods without interruption.
