The film backing gives you a close-tolerance, consistent finish, making it a good choice for applications such as spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects, or sanding automotive primer.
To help reduce loading on the disc, we designed an open coat construction without a load-resistant stearate coating. Our convenient 3M Hookit hook-and-loop attachment on the backing enables easy re-use so the disc can be used again and again for the life of the product, and attaches to our low-profile 3M Hookit Disc Pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander. Our Film Disc 360L comes in a range of grades for various applications from fine sanding to finishing.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
At 3M we offer a complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M Hookit discs for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris. They are often used in applications where a 3M Stikit disc may be too aggressive, as Hookit discs tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive backed discs. Hookit sanding discs conveniently and firmly attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander, can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life

Precise Five Inch Size
This product comes in a 5 inch diameter, ideal for use with random orbital sanders. The size offers a good balance between coverage and control for detailed sanding tasks.
Its 5 inch format fits perfectly on compatible 3M Hookit Disc Pads, making it suitable for a variety of sanding and finishing applications on plastics and solid surfaces.
Durable Film Disc Backing
The 360L model uses a durable film backing that resists tearing and provides a consistent finish. This backing is tougher than standard paper, extending the disc’s usable life in demanding environments.
Thanks to the film backing, the disc maintains close tolerance during sanding, which is especially useful for spot repairs, paint feathering, and finishing automotive primers.
Effective P220 Grade Abrasive
This pack includes discs with the NH P220 grade, offering fine sanding performance. The P220 grade is well-suited for finishing tasks on composites, gel coats, and fiberglass surfaces.
Aluminum oxide abrasive grains provide a fast cut and long life, making the P220 discs efficient for both sanding and finishing applications across various materials.
Convenient 100 Pack Case
The product is supplied as 100 discs per pack, with 500 discs per case. This large quantity supports high-production environments and reduces the need for frequent reordering.
Having 100 discs per pack ensures you have enough supply for extended projects, while the case count allows easy storage and inventory management for busy workshops.
