The 3M Fit Test Adapter 601 allows you to perform quantitative fit testing (QNFT) on 3M facepieces with bayonet style filter/cartridge connection including the 3M Half Facepieces 6000, 6500/6500QL and 7500 Series, and Full Facepieces 6000, FF-400 and 7800 Series. This fit test adapter is designed to be used with certain sampling instruments, such as a TSI PortaCount Respirator Fit Tester. Everything needed to adapt a 3M respirator Including an adaptor, plastic tubing, suction cups, and a retainer clip, this respirator fit test adaptor kit has everything you need to enable your 3M respirator to perform a quantitative fit test (QNFT) with certain sampling instruments, such as a TSI PortaCount system. Easy to install Whether you're testing a 3M half facepiece or a 3M full facepiece respirator with a bayonet style cartridge/filter connection, this adaptor allows you to easily thread the plastic tubing through the inhalation valve into the interior of the facepiece. This enables the sampling instrument, such as a TSI PortaCount Respirator Fit Tester, to measure the test agent concentration inside the respirator. Other requirements Quantitative fit testing requires the use of P100 particulate filters. 3M Particulate Filters are not included and must be purchased separately. The 3M Fit Test Adapter 601 is compatible with bayonet style filters including the 3M Particulate Filter 2091, P100 and 3M Particulate Filter 7093 Series, P100. OSHA fit testing requirements OSHA regulations require workers who need to wear a tight-fitting respirator to undergo a fit test prior to initial use of the respirator to determine adequacy of the respirator fit. Fit tests must also be conducted annually, or sooner if there is any change in a worker’s physical condition that could affect the fit. Changes in physical condition include significant changes in body weight, facial surgery, or major dental work. Refer to OSHA Regulation 29 CFR 1910.134 for full list of requirements.
