Firestopping in Nearly Any Size and Shape
For larger openings and penetrations where putties and strips alone aren’t enough, our 3M™ Fire Barrier Composite Sheet CS-195+ is a one-part firestop system that installers can cut and form to exact sizes – no mixing or damming required. These sheets are easily installed using common tools and fasteners. Ideal for firestopping penetrations such as cable trays and conduit, the sheets feature intumescent material bonded to 28-gauge galvanized steel, reinforced on its facing side with hexagonal wire mesh and covered in aluminum foil. This combination of organic/inorganic materials makes these composite sheets a reliable firestop in tested and listed systems, new and retrofit. These materials also make an excellent thermal conductor, helping to dispel built-up radiant heat to preserve process and control equipment and help minimize cable derating concerns.Recommended Applications
- Seal penetrations through fire-rated walls and floors
- Firestop penetrations including cable trays, cable, piping and large blanks
- Multiple component installations where heat build-up and derating are concerns
- Shield conduit, HVAC ductwork, panels, valves and vital heat-sensitive process equipment
- Fire-resistive and smoke seal for any shape opening in concrete block or slabs
- Protect cable drop-outs, junction boxes and cabinets
- Intermittent firestop in horizontal and vertical cable tray runs
- In conjunction with 3M™ Fire Barrier Sealant or Moldable Putty MP+
Fully Tested and Approved
3M™ Fire Barrier Composite Sheet CS-195+ is firestop tested up to 4 hours in accordance with ASTM E 814 (UL 1479).The Science of Better Fire Protection from 3M
Since 1925 when one of our lab assistants invented masking tape, 3M has been applying science to life –developing adhesive products and technologies that help entire industries and individual businesses worldwide. The work that began with a single 3M engineer now spans decades and generations. And all of it goes into each of our adhesives, sealants, protective coatings, devices and firestop products including 3M™ Fire Barrier Composite Sheet CS-195+ to improve performance, and to help businesses like yours operate faster, better and more efficiently.Trusted 3M Firestop Solution
The 3M Fire Barrier Composite Sheet CS-195+ offers reliable fire protection with a tested firestop system. This model combines multiple materials to slow fire, smoke, and toxic gases, making it a trusted choice for safety.
Its design includes a four-component intumescent system, ideal for larger penetrations like cable trays and conduit. The brand’s reputation ensures consistent quality and performance on every job.
Flexible Size And Format
This composite sheet measures 36 in by 24 in, providing a versatile size for various applications. Installers can cut and form the sheet easily using common trade tools, fitting nearly any size opening.
The format combines steel, intumescent material, wire mesh, and aluminum foil into one sheet. This makes it easy to handle and install while maintaining strong firestop capabilities.
Effective Fire Barrier Performance
CS-195+ is firestop tested for up to 4 hours according to ASTM E 814 (UL 1479), ensuring dependable fire resistance. This performance helps protect walls and floors from fire spread in critical areas.
The sheet forms an effective intermittent fire-break within horizontal and vertical cable tray runs. Its hard char material seals penetrations tightly against flame, smoke, and toxic gases.
Thermally Conductive Design
The composite sheet’s materials allow unwanted heat to escape, reducing heat build-up and cable derating issues. This thermal conductivity helps maintain equipment performance and safety.
Its combination of organic and inorganic components ensures heat is dispersed effectively. This makes it suitable for installations where heat management is a concern.
Convenient Pack And Installation
Each case contains one sheet, simplifying ordering and inventory management. The 1/case pack size suits both new and retrofit projects without excess material waste.
Installation is straightforward with no mixing or damming required. The sheet’s lightweight design and compatibility with common tools make it easy to handle on site.
