  • Product Description
    • *U.S. EPA specifies the NRR as the measure of hearing protector noise reduction. However, 3M makes no warranties as to the suitability of the NRR for this purpose. 3M strongly recommends personal fit testing of hearing protectors. Research suggests that users may receive less noise reduction than indicated by the attenuation label value(s) on the packaging due to variation in fit, fitting skill, and motivation of the user. Refer to applicable regulations or guidance on how to adjust attenuation label values. It is recommended that the NRR be reduced by 50% to better estimate typical protection.
    • CSA Class AL
    • Compatible with the 3M E-A-Rfit Validation System
    • Dispenser packaging option available for uncorded earplugs
    • Features a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR)* of 29 dB
    • Moisture-resistant foam
    • Pillow pack option for storage of earplugs between uses
    • Proprietary soft, slow-recovery foam is comfortable and helps with earplug fitting
3M E-A-R Classic Earplugs have set the industry standard for noise reduction as the world's first foam earplugs. These earplugs are made of a proprietary soft energy-absorbing slow-recovery foam that's designed to conform to the shape of the ear canal to help provide hearing protection. This earplug's moisture resistant foam is initially firm to make fitting the earplug easier, softening once it’s in the ear to comfortably expand and conform to the shape of each ear canal. The slow recovery feature helps with earplug insertion by giving the user time to get the compressed foam cylinder (rolled down earplug) into the ear before the foam fully expands. Per-pair packaging options include a pillow pack that can be used to store earplugs between uses or a standard polybag; dispenser bottles for One Touch Pro dispenser are also available. Comes with or without cord to suit user preference. This product is EARfit testable to help validate the level of protection the individual user can achieve with this product.

    Trusted 3M E-A-R Classic

The 3M E-A-R Classic Earplugs 311-4101 are a reliable choice for hearing protection. These earplugs use a proprietary slow-recovery foam that conforms comfortably to the ear canal, providing effective noise reduction. The brand and model ensure you get a proven product trusted worldwide.

Designed as the world's first foam earplugs, they offer a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 29 dB. This high rating helps reduce harmful noise levels in many environments, making them ideal for industrial or loud work settings.

    Metal Detectable Safety Feature

These earplugs include a metal detectable feature, which is essential in food processing or cleanroom environments. This allows for easy detection if an earplug is lost or dropped, helping maintain safety and hygiene standards.

The metal detectable design adds an extra layer of security without compromising comfort. It’s a practical choice for workplaces that require strict contamination control alongside hearing protection.

    Convenient Poly Bag Packaging

Each pair of 3M E-A-R Classic Earplugs comes in a poly bag, making them easy to distribute and store. This packaging keeps the earplugs clean and ready for use, which is important for maintaining hygiene and convenience on the job.

The case includes 2000 pairs, providing a large supply for workplaces or personal use. This bulk packaging supports cost efficiency and ensures you have enough earplugs for extended periods.

    Compatible E-A-Rfit System

These earplugs are compatible with the 3M E-A-Rfit Validation System, allowing users to test and validate their fit. This compatibility helps ensure the earplugs provide the expected noise reduction by confirming proper insertion and seal.

Using the E-A-Rfit system can improve hearing protection effectiveness by tailoring the fit to individual users. This feature supports workplace safety programs focused on personalized hearing protection.

    Comfortable Foam Technology

The slow-recovery foam is moisture-resistant and initially firm to ease insertion. Once inside the ear, it softens and expands to fit the ear canal comfortably, enhancing wearability during long shifts or noisy tasks.

This foam technology also helps users insert the earplugs correctly by allowing time before full expansion. The design supports consistent protection and reduces discomfort often associated with earplug use.
