  • Product Description
    • Alumina zirconia mineral with grinding aid provides more cutting power than aluminum oxide
    • Available in a range of sizes and grades to fit your specific needs
    • Heavyweight cloth backing provides durability in high-production operations
    • Runs cool for reliable use on heat-sensitive metals like aluminum and stainless steel
    • Tough and versatile alumina zirconia mineral cuts fast and performs well on many substrates
When traditional aluminum oxide belts aren’t cutting it, try 3M Cloth Belt 577F with alumina zirconia abrasive grain. It offers increased cutting efficiency compared to aluminum oxide, and has a heavy, water-resistant polyester backing that stands up to high-pressure applications and edge work.

    Runs Cool on Heat-Sensitive Metals
We recommend 3M Cloth Belt 577F for use on aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. To protect heat sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys and cobalt alloys, we incorporated a grinding aid on the belt reduces running temperatures. Additionally, the abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Alumina zirconia fractures frequently to continually produce sharp points and deliver a faster cut-rate than aluminum oxide. A synthetic mineral, it was developed for heavy stock removal and high pressure grinding.

    Sized to Suit Your Needs
Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different metalworking applications. At 3M we offer a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used with wide belt sanders and feed-through style flat finishers to smooth rough-cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts are generally used on a backstand for weld removal or for imparting a finish. Narrow belts can be used on file tools to access right angle corners for finishing.

    Trusted 3M Cloth Belt

The 3M Cloth Belt 577F offers reliable performance with its alumina zirconia mineral that cuts faster than aluminum oxide. This belt is designed for heavy-duty use, featuring a heavyweight cloth backing that stands up to high-production operations.

Its single-flex design and Film-lok technology ensure durability and flexibility during demanding tasks. The 2 in x 60 in size fits many belt sanding tools, making it a versatile choice for various metalworking jobs.

    Effective Grade And Weight

This belt comes in the 80 YF-weight grade, providing a balance of aggressive cutting and smooth finishing. The alumina zirconia abrasive grain continually fractures to maintain sharp points, delivering a faster cut rate than traditional aluminum oxide belts.

Its grinding aid reduces running temperatures, making it ideal for heat-sensitive metals like aluminum and stainless steel. This grade is perfect for dimensioning, deburring, blending, and finishing metal parts.

    Precise Dimensions And Size

The belt measures 2 inches wide by 60 inches long, fitting a wide range of belt sanders. This size is suitable for both narrow and medium-width applications, allowing access to tight corners and broad surface finishing.

Its format supports various metalworking tasks, from weld removal to smoothing rough-cut edges. The dimensions ensure compatibility with many industrial sanding tools, enhancing productivity and finish quality.

    Advanced Film-lok Technology

Featuring Film-lok technology, the belt offers strong resin bonding that maintains abrasive durability under high heat and pressure. This technology helps the belt run cooler, protecting heat-sensitive alloys during grinding and finishing.

The single-flex backing adds flexibility without sacrificing strength, making it suitable for edge work and high-pressure applications. This combination ensures consistent performance and longer belt life.

    Convenient Pack Size

Sold as a case of 50 belts, this pack size supports high-volume operations and reduces downtime. Having a large quantity on hand ensures you can maintain workflow without frequent reordering.

The 25 belts per pack configuration within the case allows easy handling and storage. This pack size is ideal for industrial settings requiring consistent supply of quality abrasive belts.
