  • Product Description
    • Alumina zirconia mineral with grinding aid provides more cutting power than aluminum oxide
    • Available in a range of sizes and grades to fit your specific needs
    • Heavyweight cloth backing provides durability in high-production operations
    • Runs cool for reliable use on heat-sensitive metals like aluminum and stainless steel
    • Tough and versatile alumina zirconia mineral cuts fast and performs well on many substrates
When traditional aluminum oxide belts aren’t cutting it, try 3M Cloth Belt 577F with alumina zirconia abrasive grain. It offers increased cutting efficiency compared to aluminum oxide, and has a heavy, water-resistant polyester backing that stands up to high-pressure applications and edge work.

    Runs Cool on Heat-Sensitive Metals
We recommend 3M Cloth Belt 577F for use on aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. To protect heat sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys and cobalt alloys, we incorporated a grinding aid on the belt reduces running temperatures. Additionally, the abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Alumina zirconia fractures frequently to continually produce sharp points and deliver a faster cut-rate than aluminum oxide. A synthetic mineral, it was developed for heavy stock removal and high pressure grinding.

    Sized to Suit Your Needs
Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different metalworking applications. At 3M we offer a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used with wide belt sanders and feed-through style flat finishers to smooth rough-cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts are generally used on a backstand for weld removal or for imparting a finish. Narrow belts can be used on file tools to access right angle corners for finishing.

    Trusted 3M Cloth Belt

The 3M Cloth Belt 577F offers reliable performance with its alumina zirconia mineral that cuts faster than aluminum oxide. This model is designed for heavy-duty use, featuring a single-flex format that adapts well to various sanding tools.

Its heavyweight cloth backing ensures durability during high-production operations. The belt’s Film-lok technology helps maintain abrasive strength, making it a solid choice for demanding metalworking tasks.

    Precise Size And Dimensions

This belt measures 2-1/2 inches by 60 inches, fitting a wide range of belt sanders. The size is ideal for both narrow and medium-width applications, allowing access to tight corners and larger surface areas alike.

Available in a case of 50 belts, it supports continuous work without frequent replacements. The dimensions and pack count make it convenient for industrial use and bulk purchasing.

    Effective Grade And Weight

The 80 YF-weight grade balances cutting power and longevity, suitable for heavy stock removal. This grade is optimized for metalworking tasks like deburring, grinding, and finishing.

Its heavyweight cloth backing adds strength and resistance to wear, making it ideal for high-pressure applications. The belt’s grade and weight ensure consistent performance across various substrates.

    Advanced Format Technologies

The Film-lok system firmly bonds the abrasive to the backing, enhancing durability under heat and pressure. This format helps the belt run cooler, protecting heat-sensitive metals like aluminum and stainless steel.

Single-flex construction allows the belt to bend and flex without cracking, improving lifespan. These format features make the belt versatile for dimensioning, blending, and finishing metal parts.

    Bulk Pack For Efficiency

Sold as a case of 50 belts, this pack size supports high-volume operations and reduces downtime. Having multiple belts on hand ensures you can maintain productivity without frequent reordering.
