  • Product Description
    • Alumina zirconia mineral with grinding aid provides more cutting power than aluminum oxide
    • Available in a range of sizes and grades to fit your specific needs
    • Heavyweight cloth backing provides durability in high-production operations
    • Runs cool for reliable use on heat-sensitive metals like aluminum and stainless steel
    • Tough and versatile alumina zirconia mineral cuts fast and performs well on many substrates
When traditional aluminum oxide belts aren’t cutting it, try 3M Cloth Belt 577F with alumina zirconia abrasive grain. It offers increased cutting efficiency compared to aluminum oxide, and has a heavy, water-resistant polyester backing that stands up to high-pressure applications and edge work.

    Runs Cool on Heat-Sensitive Metals
We recommend 3M Cloth Belt 577F for use on aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. To protect heat sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys and cobalt alloys, we incorporated a grinding aid on the belt reduces running temperatures. Additionally, the abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Alumina zirconia fractures frequently to continually produce sharp points and deliver a faster cut-rate than aluminum oxide. A synthetic mineral, it was developed for heavy stock removal and high pressure grinding.

    Sized to Suit Your Needs
Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different metalworking applications. At 3M we offer a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used with wide belt sanders and feed-through style flat finishers to smooth rough-cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts are generally used on a backstand for weld removal or for imparting a finish. Narrow belts can be used on file tools to access right angle corners for finishing.

    Trusted 3M Cloth Belt

The 3M Cloth Belt 577F offers reliable performance with alumina zirconia mineral that cuts faster than aluminum oxide. This model is designed for heavy-duty use, making it a solid choice for demanding metalworking tasks.

Its single-flex format and Film-lok technology ensure flexibility and secure abrasive attachment. The belt’s toughness suits high-pressure applications, helping you get the job done efficiently.

    Precise Grade And Weight

This belt features a 60 YF-weight grade, providing a balance of durability and cutting power. The heavyweight cloth backing supports long-lasting use in high-production environments without sacrificing performance.

Such a grade is ideal for tasks like deburring and finishing, where consistent abrasion is key. It’s engineered to maintain sharpness and resist wear during tough grinding jobs.

    Exact Dimensions Provided

Measuring 3 inches by 132 inches, this belt fits a variety of belt sanding tools. Its size makes it versatile for different metalworking applications, from smoothing edges to surface preparation.

The length and width allow for use on wide belt sanders or narrower tools, adapting to your specific workflow. This dimensioning helps ensure compatibility with many industrial machines.

    Film-lok Format Technology

The Film-lok system securely bonds the abrasive to the cloth backing, enhancing durability under heat and pressure. This technology reduces belt wear and improves cutting efficiency during heavy stock removal.

It also helps the belt run cooler on heat-sensitive metals like aluminum and stainless steel, protecting delicate alloys while maintaining a fast cut rate.

    Case Of Twenty-five

This product comes as a case of 25 belts, ensuring you have enough supply for continuous work without frequent reordering. Bulk packaging supports high-volume operations and reduces downtime.

Having multiple belts on hand is practical for industrial settings where consistent belt replacement is necessary. It also offers cost savings compared to buying individual belts.
