  • Product Description
    • Alumina zirconia mineral with grinding aid provides more cutting power than aluminum oxide
    • Available in a range of sizes and grades to fit your specific needs
    • Heavyweight cloth backing provides durability in high-production operations
    • Runs cool for reliable use on heat-sensitive metals like aluminum and stainless steel
    • Tough and versatile alumina zirconia mineral cuts fast and performs well on many substrates
When traditional aluminum oxide belts aren’t cutting it, try 3M Cloth Belt 577F with alumina zirconia abrasive grain. It offers increased cutting efficiency compared to aluminum oxide, and has a heavy, water-resistant polyester backing that stands up to high-pressure applications and edge work.

    Runs Cool on Heat-Sensitive Metals
We recommend 3M Cloth Belt 577F for use on aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. To protect heat sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys and cobalt alloys, we incorporated a grinding aid on the belt reduces running temperatures. Additionally, the abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Alumina zirconia fractures frequently to continually produce sharp points and deliver a faster cut-rate than aluminum oxide. A synthetic mineral, it was developed for heavy stock removal and high pressure grinding.

    Sized to Suit Your Needs
Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different metalworking applications. At 3M we offer a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used with wide belt sanders and feed-through style flat finishers to smooth rough-cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts are generally used on a backstand for weld removal or for imparting a finish. Narrow belts can be used on file tools to access right angle corners for finishing.

    Trusted 3M Cloth Belt

The 3M Cloth Belt 577F is designed for heavy-duty use with alumina zirconia mineral that cuts faster than aluminum oxide. This model offers a full-flex design, making it adaptable for various grinding tasks.

Its heavyweight cloth backing ensures durability during high-production operations, maintaining performance even under pressure. The belt comes in a case of 20, providing ample supply for ongoing projects.

    Precise 6 Inch Width

Measuring 6 inches wide and 132 inches long, this belt fits many industrial belt sanders. The size is ideal for smoothing rough-cut edges or adding grain patterns to metal sheets.

Medium-width belts like this one are perfect for weld removal or finishing tasks, offering versatility across metalworking applications. The length supports extended use without frequent changes.

    Full-Flex Heavyweight Backing

The full-flex design allows the belt to bend and conform to different surfaces, improving contact and finish quality. The heavyweight cloth backing adds strength and resistance to wear during tough jobs.

This backing also supports high-pressure grinding and edge work, making it suitable for demanding industrial environments. It helps maintain belt integrity over time, reducing downtime.

    Runs Cool On Metals

This 3M belt runs cool, which is essential when working with heat-sensitive metals like aluminum and stainless steel. The grinding aid incorporated reduces running temperatures to protect delicate alloys.

It’s recommended for dimensioning, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The belt’s ability to maintain low heat prevents damage and preserves metal quality.

    Case Of Twenty Belts

Sold as a case of 20 belts, this pack size ensures you have enough material for continuous work without frequent reordering. It’s convenient for workshops and production lines needing consistent supply.

The pack supports various sanding tools and applications, making it a practical choice for metalworkers requiring reliable abrasive belts in bulk. The quantity matches industrial demand efficiently.
