  • Product Description
    • Alumina zirconia mineral with grinding aid provides more cutting power than aluminum oxide
    • Available in a range of sizes and grades to fit your specific needs
    • Heavyweight cloth backing provides durability in high-production operations
    • Runs cool for reliable use on heat-sensitive metals like aluminum and stainless steel
    • Tough and versatile alumina zirconia mineral cuts fast and performs well on many substrates
When traditional aluminum oxide belts aren’t cutting it, try 3M Cloth Belt 577F with alumina zirconia abrasive grain. It offers increased cutting efficiency compared to aluminum oxide, and has a heavy, water-resistant polyester backing that stands up to high-pressure applications and edge work.

    Runs Cool on Heat-Sensitive Metals
We recommend 3M Cloth Belt 577F for use on aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. To protect heat sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys and cobalt alloys, we incorporated a grinding aid on the belt reduces running temperatures. Additionally, the abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Alumina zirconia fractures frequently to continually produce sharp points and deliver a faster cut-rate than aluminum oxide. A synthetic mineral, it was developed for heavy stock removal and high pressure grinding.

    Sized to Suit Your Needs
Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different metalworking applications. At 3M we offer a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used with wide belt sanders and feed-through style flat finishers to smooth rough-cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts are generally used on a backstand for weld removal or for imparting a finish. Narrow belts can be used on file tools to access right angle corners for finishing.

    Trusted 3M Cloth Belt

The 3M Cloth Belt 577F offers reliable performance with alumina zirconia mineral for more cutting power than aluminum oxide. This model is designed to handle tough grinding tasks efficiently.

Its single-flex construction ensures flexibility during use, making it suitable for various metalworking applications. The 577F model stands out for durability and cutting speed.

    Grade And Weight Benefits

This belt features a 120 YF-weight, providing a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-production operations. The weight adds durability and resistance to wear during demanding tasks.

Such a grade is ideal for heavy stock removal and high-pressure grinding, ensuring the belt lasts longer while maintaining cutting efficiency on metals like aluminum and stainless steel.

    Exact Dimensions Matter

Measuring 37 inches by 60 inches, this belt size fits a variety of industrial belt sanders. The dimensions allow for wide coverage and efficient material removal on large surfaces.

These measurements also make the belt versatile for different sanding tools, from wide belt sanders to file tools, ensuring it meets diverse metalworking needs.

    Film-lok Technology Advantages

The Film-lok system enhances the belt’s abrasive bonding, improving durability under heat and pressure. This technology helps the belt run cooler on heat-sensitive metals like stainless steel and nickel alloys.

By reducing running temperatures, Film-lok protects delicate alloys during deburring, blending, and finishing, making the belt suitable for precision metalworking tasks.

    Case Of Five Pack

This product comes as a case of 5 belts, providing a convenient supply for continuous use in workshops or production lines. Having multiple belts ensures less downtime for replacements.

The pack size supports businesses needing consistent sanding performance, making it easier to maintain workflow without frequent reordering or interruptions.
