  • Product Description
    • Alumina zirconia mineral with grinding aid provides more cutting power than aluminum oxide
    • Available in a range of sizes and grades to fit your specific needs
    • Heavyweight cloth backing provides durability in high-production operations
    • Runs cool for reliable use on heat-sensitive metals like aluminum and stainless steel
    • Tough and versatile alumina zirconia mineral cuts fast and performs well on many substrates
When traditional aluminum oxide belts aren’t cutting it, try 3M Cloth Belt 577F with alumina zirconia abrasive grain. It offers increased cutting efficiency compared to aluminum oxide, and has a heavy, water-resistant polyester backing that stands up to high-pressure applications and edge work.

    Runs Cool on Heat-Sensitive Metals
We recommend 3M Cloth Belt 577F for use on aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. To protect heat sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys and cobalt alloys, we incorporated a grinding aid on the belt reduces running temperatures. Additionally, the abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Alumina zirconia fractures frequently to continually produce sharp points and deliver a faster cut-rate than aluminum oxide. A synthetic mineral, it was developed for heavy stock removal and high pressure grinding.

    Sized to Suit Your Needs
Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different metalworking applications. At 3M we offer a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used with wide belt sanders and feed-through style flat finishers to smooth rough-cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts are generally used on a backstand for weld removal or for imparting a finish. Narrow belts can be used on file tools to access right angle corners for finishing.

    Trusted 3M Cloth Belt

The 3M Cloth Belt 577F is designed with alumina zirconia mineral for more cutting power than aluminum oxide. This model offers a single-flex format that adapts well to various sanding tools. Its heavy-duty construction ensures durability during demanding tasks.

Ideal for industrial use, this belt is part of a case of 50, making it a reliable choice for continuous production. The 3-1/2 in x 15-1/2 in size fits many standard belt sanders, providing consistent performance across applications.

    Effective Grade And Weight

The 120 YF-weight grade of the 3M Cloth Belt 577F balances aggressive cutting with smooth finishing. This grade is suitable for heavy stock removal and high-pressure grinding, thanks to the alumina zirconia abrasive grain.

This weight ensures the belt maintains its shape and cutting efficiency during use. It works well on metals like aluminum and stainless steel, where precision and surface quality are important.

    Durable Heavyweight Backing

The belt features a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-production operations. This backing resists wear and tear, extending the belt’s life even under tough conditions.

Its water-resistant polyester backing stands up to edge work and high-pressure applications, making it a versatile choice for metalworking tasks. This backing also helps maintain belt flexibility for single-flex use.

    Cool Running On Metals

The 3M Cloth Belt 577F runs cool, protecting heat-sensitive metals like aluminum and stainless steel. A grinding aid incorporated into the belt reduces running temperatures during use.

This feature prevents damage to exotic alloys such as nickel and cobalt, ensuring parts maintain their integrity. The belt’s resin bond keeps abrasives secure under heat and pressure for reliable performance.

    Convenient Size And Pack

Measuring 3-1/2 in by 15-1/2 in, this belt fits a variety of belt sanding tools. The size is suitable for tasks ranging from deburring to finishing and grinding on metal surfaces.

Sold in a case of 50, it offers a practical supply for industrial users. This pack size supports continuous work without frequent reordering, making it efficient for busy workshops.
