3M Cloth Belt 341D is a durable aluminum oxide cloth belt recommended for your metal deburring, general metalworking, and some woodworking applications. It is suitable for wide belt, edge, or portable belt sanding, and can be used for a variety of applications on metal substrates and wood.

3M Cloth Belt 341D comes with fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing to provide you with continuous cut and long-life performance necessary for more aggressive dry sanding applications. For finishing on metal, the closed coat construction offers a consistent, fine finish, and is suitable for producing a grain pattern. This belt should not be run wet.

Aluminum oxide mineral is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate, durability, and long life. It can be used on a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys, and is the most commonly used industrial abrasive. The abrasive particles are adhered to the cloth backing with resin, creating a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure.

Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different applications on both wood and metal. At 3M we offer a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used with wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth rough cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts fit onto edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges; and narrow belts are used with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors.

Belts come with various splices that join the belt ends. A film media splice achieves a secure bond with a joining film that minimizes chatter marks, ensures a smooth running belt, and produces consistent finishing results. A sine wave splice is constructed of interlocking fingers that enable the splice to travel smoothly over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and provide added strength to the joint area. Sine wave splices are typically used for coarser grades and wide belts.

    Precise P180 X-weight Grade

This belt features a P180 grade, providing a fine abrasive surface for smooth finishing. The X-weight cloth backing adds strength, allowing it to handle heavy sanding and grinding without tearing or wearing out quickly.

With the P180 grade, users can achieve detailed finishes on metal and wood surfaces. The X-weight backing supports aggressive dry sanding, making it effective for tough jobs.

    Optimal 1 Inch Width

The belt measures 1 inch by 42 inches, a size that fits many portable and edge sanding tools. This dimension allows for precise sanding in tight or narrow areas, perfect for detailed work on panels or edges.

Its length and width make it versatile for various applications, including smoothing rough edges and removing imperfections. The 1 in x 42 in size balances control and coverage for efficient sanding.

    Film-lok Single-flex Technology

Equipped with Film-lok technology, this belt ensures a secure splice that minimizes chatter marks during use. The single-flex design allows the belt to bend smoothly around wheels and contours without cracking.

This technology helps maintain a smooth running belt, improving finishing quality. It’s especially useful when working on curved or irregular surfaces, enhancing the belt’s adaptability.
