3M Cloth Belt 341D comes with fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing to provide you with continuous cut and long-life performance necessary for more aggressive dry sanding applications. For finishing on metal, the closed coat construction offers a consistent, fine finish, and is suitable for producing a grain pattern. This belt should not be run wet.
Aluminum oxide mineral is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate, durability, and long life. It can be used on a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys, and is the most commonly used industrial abrasive. The abrasive particles are adhered to the cloth backing with resin, creating a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure.
Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different applications on both wood and metal. At 3M we offer a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used with wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth rough cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts fit onto edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges; and narrow belts are used with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors.
Belts come with various splices that join the belt ends. A film media splice achieves a secure bond with a joining film that minimizes chatter marks, ensures a smooth running belt, and produces consistent finishing results. A sine wave splice is constructed of interlocking fingers that enable the splice to travel smoothly over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and provide added strength to the joint area. Sine wave splices are typically used for coarser grades and wide belts.
Trusted 3M Cloth Belt
The 3M Cloth Belt 341D offers reliable performance with its durable aluminum oxide abrasive. This belt is designed for demanding sanding tasks, ensuring you get consistent results every time. The model 341D is well-known for its quality and long-lasting use in industrial settings.
Its resin bond withstands high heat and pressure, making it suitable for tough applications. Whether you're working on metal deburring or general metalworking, this belt delivers the durability you need for efficient sanding.
Precise P150 X-weight Grade
This belt features a P150 grit grade with an X-weight cloth backing, which stands up to heavy sanding and grinding. The specific grade ensures a balance between cutting speed and finish quality, ideal for both metal and woodworking projects.
The X-weight backing provides extra strength, allowing the belt to handle aggressive dry sanding without tearing. This makes it a versatile choice for various surfaces and materials.
Optimal 6 Inch Size
The belt measures 6 inches by 48 inches, a size that fits many standard belt sanding tools. This dimension allows for effective sanding on both wide and narrow surfaces, giving you flexibility in your applications.
Its tube-shaped design fits inner and outer contours, helping to remove parting lines, imperfections, and burrs with ease. This size and shape combination is practical for detailed finishing work.
Film-lok Single-flex Format
The Film-lok technology ensures a secure splice that minimizes chatter marks and provides smooth running during sanding. This single-flex format enhances the belt’s flexibility and durability on rotary tools.
Such a splice type is ideal for consistent finishing results, especially when used with die grinders or rotary drills. It helps maintain belt integrity and performance over extended use.
Convenient Case Pack Count
This product comes in a case of 20 belts, offering a practical supply for ongoing projects. Buying in bulk ensures you have enough belts on hand for continuous work without frequent reordering.
The pack size supports industrial or workshop environments where multiple belts are needed for various sanding tasks. It’s a cost-effective way to keep your sanding operations running smoothly.
