3M Cloth Belt 341D is a durable aluminum oxide cloth belt recommended for your metal deburring, general metalworking, and some woodworking applications. It is suitable for wide belt, edge, or portable belt sanding, and can be used for a variety of applications on metal substrates and wood.

3M Cloth Belt 341D comes with fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing to provide you with continuous cut and long-life performance necessary for more aggressive dry sanding applications. For finishing on metal, the closed coat construction offers a consistent, fine finish, and is suitable for producing a grain pattern. This belt should not be run wet.

Aluminum oxide mineral is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate, durability, and long life. It can be used on a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys, and is the most commonly used industrial abrasive. The abrasive particles are adhered to the cloth backing with resin, creating a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure.

Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different applications on both wood and metal. At 3M we offer a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used with wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth rough cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts fit onto edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges; and narrow belts are used with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors.

Belts come with various splices that join the belt ends. A film media splice achieves a secure bond with a joining film that minimizes chatter marks, ensures a smooth running belt, and produces consistent finishing results. A sine wave splice is constructed of interlocking fingers that enable the splice to travel smoothly over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and provide added strength to the joint area. Sine wave splices are typically used for coarser grades and wide belts.

    Trusted 3M Cloth Belt

The 3M Cloth Belt 341D offers reliable performance with its aluminum oxide abrasive mineral. This belt is designed for durability and fast cutting, making it a solid choice for metal deburring and woodworking tasks. The 80 X-weight backing ensures it can handle heavy sanding and grinding without wearing out quickly.

Its resin bond withstands high heat and pressure, which helps maintain consistent cutting performance. The belt’s lap skived, single-flex design allows it to fit smoothly on various sanding tools, enhancing its versatility for different projects.

    Precise Size And Format

Measuring 6 inches by 60 inches, this belt fits a range of belt sanding tools, including wide belt and portable sanders. The lap skived format improves flexibility and reduces the chance of belt damage during use, ensuring a longer service life.

Its tube-shaped band design conforms to inner and outer contours, making it ideal for removing parting lines, imperfections, and burrs. This shape helps achieve a smooth finish on complex surfaces, expanding its application possibilities.

    Effective Abrasive Performance

The 80 X-weight cloth backing combined with tough aluminum oxide abrasive grains delivers fast cutting and long-lasting performance. This combination is especially effective on metal substrates, providing a consistent finish and efficient material removal.

Because the abrasive grains are resin bonded, the belt can handle aggressive dry sanding without losing its cutting edge. This makes it suitable for both general metalworking and some woodworking applications where durability is key.

    Versatile Use Cases Covered

This case of 20 belts is perfect for industrial or workshop settings where multiple belts are needed. The belts work well on ferrous alloys and wood, supporting a variety of sanding tasks from smoothing rough edges to finishing surfaces.

They fit onto rubber expander wheel attachments (sold separately) for use with die grinders or rotary drills, adding to their flexibility. This adaptability makes the 3M Cloth Belt 341D a practical choice for many sanding and grinding jobs.

    Durable Pack And Design

Sold as a case of 20, these belts provide a ready supply for ongoing projects, reducing downtime. The single-flex design enhances belt life by allowing smooth movement over contact wheels and reducing stress on the belt ends.

The X-weight backing is built to withstand heavy sanding and grinding, ensuring the belts hold up under tough conditions. This durability helps maintain consistent finishing results across multiple uses.
