3M Cloth Belt 341D is a durable aluminum oxide cloth belt recommended for your metal deburring, general metalworking, and some woodworking applications. It is suitable for wide belt, edge, or portable belt sanding, and can be used for a variety of applications on metal substrates and wood.

3M Cloth Belt 341D comes with fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing to provide you with continuous cut and long-life performance necessary for more aggressive dry sanding applications. For finishing on metal, the closed coat construction offers a consistent, fine finish, and is suitable for producing a grain pattern. This belt should not be run wet.

Aluminum oxide mineral is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate, durability, and long life. It can be used on a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys, and is the most commonly used industrial abrasive. The abrasive particles are adhered to the cloth backing with resin, creating a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure.

Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different applications on both wood and metal. At 3M we offer a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used with wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth rough cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts fit onto edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges; and narrow belts are used with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors.

Belts come with various splices that join the belt ends. A film media splice achieves a secure bond with a joining film that minimizes chatter marks, ensures a smooth running belt, and produces consistent finishing results. A sine wave splice is constructed of interlocking fingers that enable the splice to travel smoothly over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and provide added strength to the joint area. Sine wave splices are typically used for coarser grades and wide belts.

    Trusted 3M Brand Quality

The 3M Cloth Belt 341D offers reliable performance with the trusted 3M brand behind it. This model 341D belt is designed for durability and consistent results, making it a dependable choice for professionals.

    Durable X-weight Backing

This belt features an 80 X-weight cloth backing that withstands heavy sanding and grinding. The strong backing supports aggressive dry sanding applications without tearing or wearing out quickly.

The X-weight cloth backing also helps the tube-shaped belt conform to inner and outer contours, efficiently removing burrs and imperfections on various surfaces.

    Precise 4 Inch Size

The 3M Cloth Belt 341D comes in a 4 inch by 60 inch size, ideal for use with many belt sanding tools. This dimension fits edge sanders and portable belt sanders, allowing for versatile sanding on narrow or curved surfaces.

Its size makes it perfect for smoothing panel edges or blending wood pieces like cabinet doors, providing a consistent finish on both metal and wood substrates.

    Film-lok Splice Technology

The belt uses Film-lok splice technology, which secures the belt ends with a joining film. This reduces chatter marks and ensures smooth running during sanding, improving the overall finish quality.

This splice type minimizes disruptions on contact wheels, making the belt suitable for producing fine finishes and consistent grain patterns on metal and wood.

    Convenient Case Pack

Sold as a case of 50 belts, this pack size supports high-volume or continuous sanding needs. Having multiple belts on hand reduces downtime and keeps projects moving efficiently.

The case format is ideal for workshops or industrial settings where frequent belt changes are necessary, ensuring you always have the 3M Cloth Belt 341D ready for use.
