3M Cloth Belt 341D comes with fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing to provide you with continuous cut and long-life performance necessary for more aggressive dry sanding applications. For finishing on metal, the closed coat construction offers a consistent, fine finish, and is suitable for producing a grain pattern. This belt should not be run wet.
Aluminum oxide mineral is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate, durability, and long life. It can be used on a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys, and is the most commonly used industrial abrasive. The abrasive particles are adhered to the cloth backing with resin, creating a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure.
Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different applications on both wood and metal. At 3M we offer a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used with wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth rough cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts fit onto edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges; and narrow belts are used with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors.
Belts come with various splices that join the belt ends. A film media splice achieves a secure bond with a joining film that minimizes chatter marks, ensures a smooth running belt, and produces consistent finishing results. A sine wave splice is constructed of interlocking fingers that enable the splice to travel smoothly over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and provide added strength to the joint area. Sine wave splices are typically used for coarser grades and wide belts.
3M Cloth Belt Model
The 3M Cloth Belt 341D is designed for demanding sanding tasks. This model features a tough X-weight cloth backing that supports heavy sanding and grinding, ensuring durability during use.
Its Film-lok technology provides a secure splice, reducing chatter marks and delivering smooth, consistent finishes. This belt is ideal for metal deburring and general metalworking applications.
Durable X-weight Backing
The X-weight cloth backing on the 3M Cloth Belt 341D withstands heavy sanding and grinding, making it suitable for aggressive dry sanding. This backing supports the resin bond that resists high heat and pressure.
This durability allows the belt to maintain performance over time, whether used on metal or wood substrates. Its strength helps in removing parting lines and burrs efficiently.
Precise Size And Format
Measuring 6 inches by 48 inches, this belt fits a variety of belt sanding tools. The size is compatible with wide belt, edge, or portable belt sanders, offering versatility across different sanding setups.
Sold in a case of 20 with 10 belts per pack, it provides ample supply for industrial or workshop use. The single-flex design allows it to conform to inner and outer contours during sanding.
Fast-Cutting Abrasive Mineral
The belt uses tough aluminum oxide abrasive grains that cut quickly and perform well on many substrates. This mineral is popular for its durability and long life in both woodworking and metalworking.
Its resin bond ensures the abrasive stays firmly attached, even under high heat and pressure. This makes the belt effective for smoothing rough edges and finishing metal surfaces.
Reliable Pack Count Supply
Each case contains 20 belts, organized as 10 belts per pack. This quantity supports continuous work without frequent reordering, ideal for busy workshops or industrial settings.
The pack count ensures you have enough belts for various projects, maintaining productivity. The Film-lok splice technology included in the belts helps maintain consistent finishing results throughout the pack.
