Tackle Hard-to-Reach Areas
Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Disc Pack 9145S contains a variety of 4.5 inch diameter discs that can be used with a right angle grinder. The small diameter of these discs make them a good match for small to mid-size workpieces with hard-to-reach areas. Some are made with silicon carbide mineral and others are made with aluminum oxide mineral. All discs are color coded by grade. This helps reduce the risk for error and enhance productivity, as operators can easily identify the next abrasive in the sequence. Grades range from super fine (SFN) to coarse (CRS).Benefits of Open Web Abrasives
Nonwoven technology makes our Scotch-Brite abrasives unique. We intersperse abrasive mineral on synthetic fibers using resin – creating an open web construction. Spaces between the fibers permit excess material to escape, so the mineral does not get worn down by debris. It keeps the mineral cutting sharper longer, enhancing cut performance and increasing abrasive service life. The spring-like nature of the fibers works well on contours and responds to subtleties on the surface. Its responsive design effectively removes unwanted burrs, soils and contaminants without ruining the base material, so you get a consistent and uniform finish – part after part.
Our Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Disc Packs are a good option for operators who want to sample a variety of discs. We created these versatile packs as an economical solution for testing discs with different minerals and grades. Each application is nuanced. Factors like machinery or equipment, base material and part specifications all influence which abrasive should be used. That’s why our Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Disc Packs were created – to help you find the right disc for you.Scotch-Brite Model Features
The Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Disc Pack 9145S offers a reliable solution for surface finishing tasks. This pack includes the exact 9145S model, known for its consistent performance on various substrates. The discs are designed to work well on small to mid-size parts, making them versatile for many projects.
Each disc in the pack is engineered to clean, finish, blend, and deburr effectively. The 9145S model also comes with a 9145 disc pad holder that uses a hook and loop attachment method, ensuring quick and secure disc changes during work.
Disc Size And Pack
The discs measure 4-1/2 inches in diameter, a size that fits well for detailed work on smaller surfaces. This dimension allows operators to reach tight or hard-to-access areas with ease, improving overall efficiency.
Each case contains 5 discs, providing enough quantity for multiple jobs or testing different grades. This pack size is ideal for users who want to try various discs without committing to large quantities.
Grades And Mineral Variety
This pack includes a variety of grades, ranging from super fine (SFN) to coarse (CRS), allowing users to select the right abrasive level for their specific task. The color-coded discs help quickly identify the grade needed, reducing errors and saving time.
Discs in the pack feature different minerals such as silicon carbide and aluminum oxide. This variety ensures compatibility with different materials and surface conditions, enhancing the versatility of the 9145S pack.
Open Web Technology Benefits
The Scotch-Brite discs use a nonwoven web construction with synthetic fibers and abrasive minerals. This open web design helps debris escape, preventing mineral wear and extending the service life of each disc.
The spring-like fibers flex and respond to surface contours, maintaining the part’s geometry while effectively removing burrs, coatings, and contaminants. This technology supports consistent finishes without damaging the base material.
Hook Loop Attachment System
The 9145 disc pad holder included in the pack features a hook and loop attachment method. This system allows for fast and secure disc changes, minimizing downtime during surface conditioning tasks.
Using this attachment method with the 4-1/2 inch discs ensures a stable fit on the tool, improving control and safety. It’s a practical feature that complements the pack’s overall design and usability.
